Hot Day at the Zoo

When I think of a hot day at the zoo, I envision flies swarming around piles of polar bear pooh, chocolate ice cream streams flowing down crying kids faces, strings of pink bubblegum oozing off the grimy bottoms of my shoes and an overall feeling of wanting to leave nearly as much as all [...]

The Days Weight

The Days Weight

Turn the volume up just enough so you can still hear the wind rustling through the leaves, crack open a cold one and set aside some time to have a listen to The Days Weight.

It’s sobering music that digs down deep into the darker corners where the shadows lurk. [...]

The Sweet Terror

The Sweet Terror

I am yet to catch a live show by Bangor rockers, The Sweet Terror, but I am quite sure that the band can deliver an edgy, powerful performance. They remind me of a classic post-punk Echo and the Bunnymen.

Soulful, well-crafted lyrics are not easy to come by. Lyrics, which are both timeless and universal, are as beautiful as mist on an early summer morning and as rare as a rainbow in winter. Singer/songwriter and accomplished guitarist Jeremy Harple is a musician who knows how to write [...]

The David Wax Museum brings the warmth of South America to the chilly streets of Boston with a rural, spicy blend of original music. [...]

The Toughcats

The Toughcats

They say that when you die, your soul sometimes sticks around. It haunts the very earth it once lived. Invisible, but wanting to be heard, a soul wanders and roams looking for what it never found.

But, you also have souls that are perfectly at home right now, in this world [...]

Eames Brothers Band

I just discovered this video on the Eames Brother’s bands website, which I thought was very well done. Good audio and video work for sure. They are playing a very soulful version of Stay up All Night and they have drummer Matt Burr, from Grace Potter and the Nocturnal’s, sitting in for the jam.
